FIRST is a non-profit organization founded by Woodie Flowers in 1989, whose main goal is to help young people discover and develop a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Annual international FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC) result in the students gaining knowledge and experience, along with confidence, winning recognition, making new friends, and even discovering careers. The effects on OGRE are profound and we plan to continue participation for many years.
